Orange County Flyers News Release
FULLERTON, CA: The Fullerton Flyers announced Thursday that one of their largest inaugural season sponsors, Downey Savings and Loan Association, F.A., has committed to become the Presenting Sponsor and Official Bank of the 2006 Fullerton Flyers Professional Baseball Team. Downey Savings, the California established and based bank has over 170 branches throughout California and Arizona. This makes it a perfect fit for The Flyers, who are part of the Golden Baseball League, which has teams throughout California and Arizona, as well as Nevada.
As a part of this relationship, Downey Savings will have a major presence in and around Goodwin Field for the 2006 Flyers campaign, which opens up on Thursday, June 15, at 7:05 PM. Outfield wall signage, pocket schedules, a unique cap that you can only get at a Flyers game, on-field promotions, other featured giveaway items, and a presence on all of the Flyers collateral that goes out for the 2006 season highlight the components of the partnership between Downey Savings and the Fullerton Flyers.
The Flyers will also continue to hold community events at various Downey locations, and will work together to support one another's visions of supporting the communities of Orange County.
"We are thrilled to be such a big partner with the Fullerton Flyers," stated Leanne Rangel, Downey Savings' Field Marketing Manager. "They demonstrated in 2005 that they understand what a sponsor is looking for in this type of partnership, and our exposure grew within the community as a direct result of our experience with the Flyers. We are excited to be their Presenting Sponsor and their Official Bank. It is an exciting time for Downey Savings to be involved with Professional Baseball at this level!"
"Having Downey Savings support and assist us in getting the message of the Golden Baseball League, and the Fullerton Flyers, out to the public is very big for us, "commented Flyers General Manager Ed Hart. "We had a great relationship with them for our inaugural season in 2005, and the leap they have taken to be our biggest sponsor for 2006 says we are doing this the right way. We work in partnership with our sponsors, assisting them to grow, just as they are doing with us. We are looking forward to a long-term relationship with Downey Savings, and expect a great Return on Investment for all of us!" About the Fullerton Flyers
The Flyers played their inaugural season in 2005, and begin their second season on June 2, 2006 with a 4-game set in Chico, CA. Their first home game of the 2006 campaign will be on Thursday, June 15 against the Yuma Scorpions, at Goodwin Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.
