A Message from Rugby ATL President, Amanda Windsor White
March 3, 2022 - Major League Rugby (MLR)
Rugby ATL News Release
Dear RATLER Nation,
Although I've had the opportunity to meet many of you at one of our two home matches, the impact that each of you have on the success of this club and our rugby family cannot be understated and so I wanted to take the time to formally introduce myself. My name is Amanda Windsor White and I'm absolutely thrilled to serve as the newly appointed team President of Rugby ATL. I'm a graduate of the Emory University's Goizueta School of Business and prior to joining the team I was a sports marketing executive at The Coca-Cola Company. I live in Grant Park with my husband and our two dogs and I'm proud to sit on the board of the Giving Kitchen supporting our city's food service workers.
With the intros out of the way, first, on behalf of myself and of us at Rugby ATL, thank you. Thank you for your support, your fandom, your cheers, and screams, for every ticket purchased, every game watched, for every social media comment and share, and for every neighbor or friend you have shared your favorite RATLER memories with. Your support of Rugby ATL means more than a ticket sold or merchandise bought. It means you are invested in the growth of this amazing movement in the United States and within the Atlanta metro area. We could not have achieved the success we have over the past three seasons without you and I'm personally thrilled to join you on this journey as we take the club to even greater heights going forward.
Second, I joined this team at a time of tremendous change. Some of these changes were heartbreaking, such as the passing of the team's founder, Marcus Calloway, who gave so much to not only this organization but the growth of the sport in the Southeast. We will recognize the impact of his passing and ensure his legacy will live on through this team by featuring his initials on our jerseys this season and, in conjunction with the league, we will be announcing shortly an annual award in his honor. Other changes that we have faced have created a tremendous opportunity for growth and allowed us to move the club forward into a new era of professionalism and impact on the sport and the community. In just my first thirty days, we opened the season in our new stadium, elevated Steve Brett to Head Coach and Blake Bradford to Assistant Head Coach, and welcomed The Coca-Cola Bottling Company United as a new partner. We will continue to improve every day and you have my commitment to ensuring, together, we build an organization that we are all proud of and that puts you, the fan, first.
If you haven't attended a match this season, I invite you to check out our new home,
Silverbacks Park. Our next home matches are Saturday, March 5 against the Houston SaberCats and Saturday, March 12 against the Austin Gilgronis (yes, I can't believe that's their name either!). Bring your family, a friend, or someone new to the game of rugby to a live sporting event experience unlike anything else in Atlanta. Tickets for upcoming matches can be purchased HERE.
Our fans are the backbone of this team and Rugby ATL would be nothing without your support. Thank you for welcoming me onboard and for standing beside me on this incredible journey.
Lastly, please know that we're building this together and so, if you have any thoughts, ideas or feedback, please email me at amanda@rugbyatl.rugby. And if you see me at Silverbacks Park or around town, please say hello!
With sincere gratitude,
Amanda Windsor White
