"Red Hots" at Jubilee CityFest Run

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Montgomery Maulers dance team, the "Red Hots," will be at the Jubilee CityFest Run on Saturday, May 21st. They will be on hand to sign autographs, cheer on the runners, pass out information regarding upcoming Maulers games, and take part in the awards ceremony at the Union Station Train Shed.

The Jubilee CityFest Run is entering its 27th year, which is conducted by the Montgomery Track & Running Club. The club is expecting over 600 runners to participate in the 8K CityFest Run, the 2-mile Lightning Route, and the Kids Fun Run.

This year the event has been moved forward a week to lead up to the large celebration of Jubilee CityFest. Both races will begin at the intersection of Coosa and Tallapoosa, near the Riverwalk Stadium and the Brew Pub. The end of the race will feature runners going past the State Capitol onto Dexter Avenue to the finish line located on Commerce Street.

The Red Hots will be located at the intersection of Dexter and South Bainbridge, near the State Capitol, to root on all runners as they are concluding the race.

The 8k CityFest Run begins at 7:30 a.m. with the 2 Mile Lightning Route to follow at 8:45a.m. At 9:45 a.m., the Kid's Fun Run race will begin. For more information contact the race director at (334) 263-2424 or log onto their website at www.montgomeryrunners.org.
