Sunday's Freedom vs. Boston match featured a check presentation for $25,000 for the "Bras Across RFK" Partnership, a joint campaign between the Washington Freedom and DC101 to raise money for the Lombardi Cancer Center.

Due to the incredible success of the fundraising campaign, the Freedom are extending the "Brauction" – an online auction for fans to bid on celebrity brass collected for charity – until Friday, June 13! Washington hopes to bounce back from last weekend's loss with win over Courage Wednesday on the road

The Freedom return to action tomorrow, Wednesday June 11, in Cary, N.C., where they take on the struggling Carolina Courage (2-5-1) at SAS Stadium. Unfortunately for Washington, the team will be shorthanded as defender Skylar Little and forward Abby Wambach will be serving red card suspensions after being sent off against the Breakers on Sunday. This will be the third and final match-up between the Freedom and the Courage in the 2003 regular season.

Comcast will air a tape-delayed broadcast on Thursday at 1:30 a.m. and will rebroadcast the game again on Saturday, June 14th at 2 p.m. The game will also be aired on Triangle TV in Carolina.

In honor of her Aunt Sasa, a former Special Olympian, Washington Freedom midfielder Sarah Kate Noftsinger (#12) has generously donated a number of tickets to the DC Special Olympics and Children's Hospital. "Skate" is also encouraging anyone and everyone interested in the organization to match her offer and, in exchange, the Freedom will seat these guests in a special section known as "Skate's SuperStars."

Buy a set of 10 tickets for $50 to one of the Freedom's remaining 4 non-doubleheader games and specify whether you'd like 10 additional Special Olympians or 10 additional Children's Hospital patients to join Skate's SuperStars at a given game. Founders Cup III tickets go on sale to the public Sunday at 10 a.m.!

Tickets for Founders Cup III, the WUSA championship game to be held at San Diego's Torero Stadium in August, will go on sale to the public Sunday at 10 a.m.

Spirit general manager Dave Presher said 1,200 tickets have been sold to season-ticket and mini-plan holders since the game was awarded to the city in March. That leaves about 6,000 seats available for the title match, which will be played on Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2.

Prices range from $23 to $50, with 100 special on-field seats going for $150.

Mullinix, Golebiowski will join Hamm, Wambach, Grubb, and Jones for WUSA All-Star Game action on June 19 in Cary, N.C.

On Monday, the list of WUSA All-Stars who are expected to play in the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup increased with the announcement of Freedom goalkeeper Siri Mullinix, midfielder Kelly Golebiowski and nine other WUSA stars named as reserve players that will compete in the 2003 Hyundai WUSA All-Star Game in Cary, NC on June 19 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.

Mullinix and Golebiowski will join Freedom midfielder Mia Hamm, forward Abby Wambach, defender Jennifer Grubb, and German midfielder Steffi Jones in playing in the match. Hamm, Wambach, Grubb, and Jones were am ong the 22 players named in early June by the WUSA to starting lineups earlier this month for the American Stars and World Stars teams.

No other WUSA team had more players named (4) than the Freedom to the game's starting lineups.

The format for the 2003 WUSA All-Star Game will feature the WUSA American Stars vs. the WUSA World Stars, as the best players from the WUSA's eight teams will be split into two squads. Washington Freedom Head Coach Jim Gabarra (American Stars) and Atlanta Beat Head Coach Tom Stone (World Stars) will serve as the head coaches of the two WUSA All-Star teams. The Freedom's Assistant Coach Dave Vanole will join Gabarra on the American Stars coaching bench.
