\'Ants Hit the Road for Oklahoma This Friday

The Tupelo FireAnts (1-7) hit the road this weekend for a battle of two hungry teams against the Oklahoma Crude (0-8) on Friday, May 23rd at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

The FireAnts offense will try to remain hot and build on its season high 43 points scored in last Saturday night's 49-43 loss to the Houma Bayou Bucks in Tupelo. The offense is eagerly awaiting its match-up against an Oklahoma Crude squad that has given up 60 or more points in its last five consecutive contests, including 68 points in an 18-68 loss at the hand of the Lake Charles LandSharks last Saturday night.

Tupelo's Offense features running back Allen Copeland, who scored three touchdowns on the ground last Saturday in addition to five receptions and a touchdown scored by newcomer Chris Edwards. Defensively, Eric Bingham and Ricky Franklin will lead the charge, combining for 75 tackles with 11 and a half for a loss this season.

The Oklahoma offense is lead by quarterback John Howdeshell, who has completed 63 of 143 passes with 11 touchdowns through the air. On defense, the Crude are lead by defensive back Marcus Long, who has grabbed over five interceptions this season.
