Wichita B-52s Take Off for PASL

August 22, 2013 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Wichita B-52s News Release

A new era in Wichita indoor soccer took flight Thursday. The Wichita B-52s were introduced at a press conference at Hartman Arena.

The expansion team represents a new chapter in Wichita's illustrious indoor soccer history which dates back to 1979. The B-52s will begin their first season in the Professional Arena Soccer League at Hartman Arena this November.

Team President Joseph Pindell and Head Coach Larry Inlow unveiled the new name and logo. The logo features an ascending B-52 plane and its blue and orange colors pay tribute to the original colors of the Wichita Wings.

Pindell, a Moberly, Missouri native and former St. Louis Rams sales executive, is looking forward to building on Wichita's indoor soccer legacy. "This has been a great market for indoor soccer in the past and it can be again," said Pindell. "This is Wichita's team and it's a responsibility I don't take lightly."

The first Head Coach of the B-52s will be former Wings assistant coach and defender Larry Inlow. Inlow, who also played for the San Diego Sockers and Florida Thundercats, coached the Wichita Gunners in the Premier Arena Soccer League, which is now the developmental league of the PASL.

"As someone who has been here and played here, it's a tremendous opportunity for me to be involved and to have a chance to put a winning team on the field here," said Inlow. "I want to thank Joseph Pindell for putting his faith in me and I am anxious for the season to start."

The PASL plays a 16-game regular season which begins in November and concludes with the Ron Newman Cup playoffs in March.

The team's website, which should be completed in early September, will be www.b52soccer.com. In the meantime you can follow the team at www.facebook.com/wichitab52s. For more information contact Joseph Pindell at pindell.joseph@gmail.com.
