Texas Revolution News Release

Allen, TX: The Indoor Football League (IFL) proudly announced today at 3:00 P.M. EST that Marcus Jackson has been named Offensive Player of the Week and Frankie Solomon Jr. has been named Special Teams Player of the Week for their performances against Cedar Rapids on April 13, 2013.

Last Saturday marked the third league win for the surging Texas Revolution, who have won three out of their last four games. In a game that showed how explosive the indoor game is, both Jackson and Solomon Jr. finished the night with multiple touchdowns in the thrilling 82-72 victory over the Cedar Rapids Titans.

Marcus Jackson, who had received the same honor in week 7 of the IFL season, was able to control the tempo of the game with both his arm and his legs.

Jackson finished the night throwing 15-20 passes for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns, but it was his legs that proved to be that something extra to keep many Revolution drives alive. Jackson rushed for 78 yards and 6 touchdowns on only 11 carries.

"He is a smart player out there, he knows when to make the right throw, and when to take off and run with it." Coach Back said, "It adds an extra dimension to our offense."

Frankie Solomon Jr. was also recognized as a Player of the Week for the second time this season. Despite intercepting a Charles McCullum pass, Solomon Jr. was recognized by the Indoor Football League for his play on special team his weekend, not his defense.

Solomon Jr. returned 7 kicks for 168 yards, while scoring on two returns. Solomon Jr.'s first touchdown return answered the Cedar Rapids opening drive touchdown and tied the game at 7-7. His second return came with 5:11 left in the first half and gave the Revolution a six point lead, which was never surrendered the rest of the night.
