
Bulls Take Four Out Of Six Points From Weekend

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls returned home from a long four day road trip with four out of a possible six points. It all started last Wednesday when the Bulls beat the Texas Tornado 4-1 in Frisco, TX and then followed that up with a 3-2 win over the Topeka RoadRunners on Friday night. The Bulls came close to posting six points, but fell 5-4 to the RoadRunners in the final game of the weekend. Amarillo currently has a record of 15-5-1 for 31 points and second place in the North American Hockey League's South Division. The Bulls still have the second best winning percentage .738 in the NAHL behind the Texas Tornado.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE: The Amarillo Bulls are in the midst of a three-week, seven game road trip due to activities in the Amarillo Civic Center. The Bulls make their first trip of the season to Corpus Christi this weekend to face the IceRays at American Bank Center. Face off for both Friday and Saturday is 7 pm.
BROADCAST SCHEDULE: Fans can tune into both games this weekend live on ESPN1440 and www.amarillobulls.com fueled by Sportsjuice, beginning with The Bulls Warm Up Show Presented By Wayland Baptist University at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has the exciting play-by-play action to follow at 7 pm. The games are also available live on Pay-Per-View courtesy of Fast Hockey and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the games.
BULLS IN THE COMMUNITY: The Amarillo Bulls will be participating in the Center City Electric Light Parade this Friday, Dec. 3, beginning at 6 pm. Rampage and the Bulls Buggy will be present at the event.
BULLS' EVENTS: There will be a public skate on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2:15 pm at the Amarillo Civic Center. The cost is $5 and $2 for skate rental. Season Ticket holders get in free for the event.
HOLIDAY 4 PACK/KIOSK: The Amarillo Bulls have a great stocking stuffer idea for Christmas. It's the Holiday 4 Pack that consists of four ticket vouchers and a Bulls Beanie for just $44. The 4 Pack as well as other Bulls Merchandise can be purchased at the new Kiosk located in Center Court of Westgate Mall. The Kiosk will be manned by Bulls Staff Members on weekends, right up until Christmas.
STATS PACK:
THIRD PERIOD CHARM: The Amarillo Bulls have outscored their opponents 35-13 in the third periods of games this season. What has been interesting to note that in the last five games, the Bulls have outscored the opposition 10-4. In that stretch the Bulls have posted a record of 3-2.
NOVEMBER NUMBERS: Forward Cody Freeman led all Amarillo Bulls during the month of November with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points. He also had one game winning goal and was tied for the team lead in shots on goal with 16. Ricky DeRosa notched five goals and one assist, while Derek Hills had a goal and five assists. Goaltender Nikifor Szczerba posted a 3-0 mark in four games played with a 2.60 Goals Against Average.
WEEKLY RECAP:
AMARILLO BULLS 4 - TEXAS TORNADO 1: Four goals in the first 25 minutes of the hockey game propelled the Amarillo Bulls past the Texas Tornado 4-1. Dan McDougall, Chris Cass, Luke Jenkins and TJ Sarcona netted goals for the Bulls and goaltender Nikifor Szczerba won his first back in net since returning from injury. The Tornado had several power play opportunities in the third period but were denied by the Bulls penalty killing.
AMARILLO BULLS 3 - TOPEKA ROADRUNNERS 2: The Amarillo Bulls won their fourth game of the season when trailing after 40 minutes of play this season, 3-2, over the Topeka RoadRunners. It was 2-0 for Topeka entering the third period when the Bulls began another comeback. Cody Freeman Dan Sherer and Zack Smoot netted the goals. Nikifor Szczerba kept his team in the game in the first 40 minutes with some key saves.
TOPEKA ROADRUNNERS 5 - AMARILLO BULLS 4: The Topeka RoadRunners notched five second period goals, including three on the power play, and had to hang on in the final minute to beat the Bulls 5-4. Terrance Johnson gave the Bulls some life in the last minute of the second when he scored to make it 5-1. The third period was exciting and Amarillo battled back to within one, thanks to a pair of power play goals from Kyle Sucher and Derek Hills. Chris Cass had the other Bulls' goal. Hills also had two assists.
