HARTFORD, CT - Friday, July 23 - Hartford Colonials Head Coach and General Manager Chris Palmer announced defensive tackle Tim Anderson has been added to the team's roster.
Anderson (6-4, 315) is a veteran of five NFL seasons since he was a third-round draft pick by the Bills in 2004. In 43 NFL regular season games with Buffalo and Atlanta, he has recorded 82 tackles, including 52 solo and one sack.
In 2005 and '06 with the Bills, Anderson had 74 tackles (46 solo) in 31 games. He appeared in nine games with the Bills and Falcons in 2007, and was in Cowboys training camp last year.
Anderson had a productive collegiate career at Ohio State that included All-Big Ten honors and a national championship. He was a junior on the 2002 Buckeyes team that went 14-0 and defeated Miami in the BCS Championship Game on Jan. 3, 2003.
Anderson joins offensive lineman Alex Stepanovich as former Buckeyes on Hartford's roster. UFL rosters cannot exceed 70 during the preseason and must be at 52 on Sept. 9.
Colonials training camp begins Aug. 18 at Sage Park in Berlin. Practice sessions are open to the public with free admission. The season opener is Sept. 18 against Sacramento at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
