Georgia Gwizzlies Sign Iranian Point Guard

Macon, GA. The ABA Georgia Gwizzlies are geared up and excited about the upcoming season. Rejoining the Gwizzlies is worldwide star point guard Behdad Sami. Last season, Behdad became the first Iranian in US history to play professional basketball. He was also featur4ed in the September issue of SLAM Magazine. In 2007-2008, he averaged 17 points and 6 assists with the Gwizzlies before returning to play overseas.

"The 5'11" Sami is coming back to the ABA and the Gwizzlies stronger and better than ever. He is currently an NBDL and NBA prospect," according to team owner Embry Malone. "Whether its his 45" vertical helping him do 360's, his amazing quickness and speed or just his overall solid basketball skills, this kid will be doing big things in whatever league he plays."

The Gwizzlies are looking like a solid team this year with key signings and a couple of returning vets. Sami, plus Ron Jackson, James Webb and Kevin Reinhardt will look to be the go-to guys and team leaders. This highly athletic and talented skilled team will be making a huge impact in the league and look to be in the playoffs this year. This is the Gwizzlie season you don't want to miss.
