Cincinnati Kings News Release

The Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro) formally awarded a team to GameTime, LLC and announced that 1790 Cincinnati has joined the league for the upcoming 2008/09 season. The team will keep the same core of personnel from the Cincinnati Excite, who played the past four seasons in the AISL.

PASL-Pro continues to consolidate the sport of indoor soccer having already added the Stockton Cougars from the MISL and the Wenatchee Fire from PASL-Premier. Additional teams will be introduced in the near future.

"It's my pleasure to welcome 1790 Cincinnati into PASL-Pro," said PASL Commissioner Kevin Milliken. "They have proven themselves to be a worthy organization and will be a credit to our league."

1790 Cincinnati is a non-profit organization designed to enhance player development and opportunities in the Cincinnati area. The 1790 Cincinnati PASL-Pro team is one part of its larger program including college programs designed for competitive players in the off-season.

1790 Cincinnati will once again call GameTime Training Center home while it continues to search for a larger permanent venue. GameTime's seating capacity is 1,200.

Three current 1790 Cincinnati players, Jack Cummings, Sam Fiore, and Shawn Rockey, were called up to the US National Arena Team and will compete in the Circuito Mundial in Montreal later this week.

Veteran defender Craig Rhodis, a native of nearby Hamilton, OH, will continue his role as player/coach. Rhodis, 35, was named to the NPSL All-Rookie Team in 1997-98 with the Cincinnati Silverbacks and has played for the Portland Pythons and Utah Freezz of the WISL.

PASL-Pro is a new professional arena soccer league whose inaugural season kicks off October 25, 2008. Its official developmental league, PASL-Premier just completed its 10th season as the nation's top amateur arena soccer league.
