Georgia Force News Release

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Georgia Force have announced that the team has agreed to a 10-year lease with The Arena at Gwinnett Center, where the team will play its Arena Football League games.

The two-time Southern Division Champion, Georgia Force, will return to The Arena at Gwinnett Center in 2008 after signing a 10-year contract with the venue. Georgia will enter their seventh season in the AFL in 2008, and this long-term contract will give the Force a place to call home. In six seasons, the franchise has had two stints in Philips Arena (2002 and 2005-07) and played at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in 2003 and 2004.

"After much deliberation, we've made the decision for the Force to return to The Arena at Gwinnett Center," said Georgia Force president Dick Sullivan. "We see many opportunities to create even more excitement around the Force at this venue, including providing more value and options to our fans."

The move to Gwinnett will provide fans with more affordable lower level seating, closer game-day action for more fans and more tailgating opportunities. The team also plans to become more active in the Gwinnett and surrounding communities.

Current season ticket holders will be able to renew their accounts at the same price point as in 2007, but in most cases will be relocated closer to the field of play at Gwinnett. Every season ticket holder who had 200 level tickets in '07 will be placed in 100 level seats at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Arena provides a larger number of lower level seats than fans have been supplied in the past three seasons. Fans will also be able to enjoy free parking and will be able to take advantage of spacious areas for tailgating prior to the game. The Force are committed to becoming active in the Gwinnett community over the length of the contract, including continuing the team's "Be a Force in the Community" initiative, food drives and book drives.

Since purchasing the team in 2005, the Force has compiled a 33-15 (.688) record and have appeared in the playoffs in three consecutive seasons with two division championships under the ownership of Arthur M. Blank. The 33 wins is the second-highest total in the AFL over that time period. Georgia has hosted two Conference Championship games in three of their playoff appearances and advanced to ArenaBowl XIX in 2005. With the guidance of two-time AFL Coach of the Year, Doug Plank, the Force has tallied a league-best 20-4 regular season record in home contests since 2005.

Force season tickets are currently on sale in select locations, starting at $9 a game. For ticket information, please contact the Force ticket sales office at 1-888-55-Force.
