Ottawa 67's News Release

(Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's today announced that veteran defenceman Jake Cardwell has been traded to the Belleville Bulls for three draft picks and, in a separate move, 19-year old goalie Clint Windsor has been acquired from the Mississauga Steelheads.

"Jake expressed a desire to play elsewhere and we were able to fulfill that request in a way that will help our club this season and in the future," said 67's Head Coach and General Manager Chris Byrne. "We thank Jake for his contribution to the 67's and wish him well in the future." In exchange for Cardwell, the Bulls sent Ottawa a 3rd round pick in the OHL Priority Selection Draft in 2013, a 2nd round pick in 2014 and a 5th round pick in 2015.

The 67's acquired Windsor in exchange for a 5th round draft pick in 2014. "We brought in Clint to add to our depth at the goalie position, and we look forward to his getting off to a great start with our club," said Chris Byrne. That start might come as early as tomorrow night when the 67's host the Steelheads at Scotiabank Place, starting at 7:00 PM.
