The Titans have teamed up with Macaroni Kid, Planet X, Corridor Family Guide, and Hy-Vee for the team's 3 rd annual "Stuff the Bus" food drive. Cumulus Radio stations of Cedar Rapids and Cedar Valley World Travel will also return as partners for the event.
This year the drive will be expanded to include a special kick off Family Fun Day event held Sunday, November 17th from 11am to 3pm at Planet X Fun Center located at 4444 1st Ave NE in Cedar Rapids. All donations will stay locally and go to Waypoint. Families will have the opportunity to eat and play that day for $10 per person or for just $5 with a donation of at least 5 items. For every item donated, attendees will receive a ticket to enter drawings good for free prizes from vendors including four Titans season tickets and a Titans jersey. The Titans Dolls Dance Team will also be in attendance to greet fans.
The drive concludes on Wednesday, November 20th when Titans players, Titan Dolls and staff will be collecting non-perishable food items at the Oakland Road Hy-Vee located at 3235 Oakland Rd. NE in Cedar Rapids from 6:00am - 6:00pm. Cumulus stations will be on location throughout the day broadcasting live.
"We are excited about the addition of the Family Fun Day at Planet X during this year's drive. It's also great to see other community organizations stepping up to the plate in helping us fight hunger this holiday season," said Chris Kokalis, Titans co-owner and general manager.
Cash donations will also be accepted at both events.
