JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jamestown Jammers' 8th Annual Hot Stove Dinner & Charity Auction will take place on Monday, January 16, 2012. This year, all event proceeds will benefit the Italian-American Charity Golf Association which is committed to enhancing local cancer care at WCA Hospital.
Jonathan J. (J.J.) Bilinski will join Miami Marlin Steve Cishek as a guest speaker for the event. J.J. is a Minor League Baseball Umpire and started last year in the Gulf Coast League before getting promoted to the New York Penn League, which the Jammers play in. He is a Chautauqua County native and a graduate of Panama Central School. J.J. even had the chance to call the last home stand of the Jammers 2011 season when his crew was assigned to Diethrick Park. Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to here information on his training and path to the New York Penn League and his unique insight as an umpire calling the game of baseball.
This event will be held at the beautiful Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the event will be $30.00 for adults and $15.00 for children. Tables of six or eight are available for groups.
The event will feature a Chinese, Silent and a Live Auction where auctioneer Mike Peterson will once again bring his excitement to the event. There will be a wide variety of items donated by local businesses and sports team from across the nation to bid on. Special thanks go out to all the past contributors that have helped make this yearly event such a success.
