2023-24 Toronto Rock Regular Season Will Begin at FirstOntario Centre in December

June 1, 2023 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Toronto Rock News Release

Oakville, ON - Toronto Rock Owner, President, and General Manager Jamie Dawick today announced that the Toronto Rock will play their December home games at Hamilton's FirstOntario Centre to begin the 2023-24 National Lacrosse League (NLL) season. Upon the closure of the team's home arena in Hamilton, the Rock will temporarily relocate their home games to Paramount Fine Foods Centre (PFFC) in Mississauga, ON to play out the remainder of their regular season schedule and playoffs.

"We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to play our December 2023 home games at our home in Hamilton," said Dawick. "We know there will be some challenges with relocating games mid-season, however we hope to replicate the same Rock City experience and energy in Mississauga that our fans currently enjoy in Hamilton."

FirstOntario Centre renovations are currently expected to begin in early January 2024 with a 20-month construction timeline. This would mean the Rock would be displaced from their Hamilton home for almost two seasons, anticipating a return back home to begin the 2025-26 NLL campaign.

"From the moment we shut the doors in Hamilton, the countdown to our return home will begin," said Dawick. "With that comes an abundance of excitement and optimism about the heightened fan experience and enhanced amenities that a virtually brand-new building will bring to our fans and the City of Hamilton."

The Rock have been able to secure Saturday night home game dates for all 2023-24 regular season home games.

"We are excited to welcome the Toronto Rock back to kick off their 2023-24 season at FirstOntario Centre this December," said Andrew Nash, General Manager of the OVG360 managed FirstOntario Centre.

Rock City Builders Club Season Members will be contacted in the coming weeks to confirm their seat location at PFFC and make any changes to their account prior to the auto-renewal process getting underway. For those current Season Members on a single season plan, they will have until July 31 to renew their Season Memberships for the 2023-24 season and lock in the same pricing as the 2022-23 season. Following that date, any unrenewed season seats will be released.

Fans can place a $50 per seat deposit for new season memberships beginning today. Those fans will have the first right to purchase season memberships as of August 1, should any season membership inventory remain.

With a smaller seating capacity at the Mississauga venue (5,545), there will be a cap on total Season Memberships to allow for a small number of single game and group tickets to be available for sale to the general public for each game at PFFC.

"We are thrilled that Mississauga and our Paramount Fine Foods Centre will be the Toronto Rock's home away from home for parts of their next two seasons," said Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie. "Sport has a unique way of bringing people together. It transcends language and culture and is truly a unifying force for good, especially in a diverse City like Mississauga. Investing in sport and local athletes is at the heart of city-building. Mississauga is already the home of Canada's first NBA G League, the Ontario Hockey League and proudly hosted the 2016 Ontario Summer Games, as well as the 2022 Ontario Summer Games and Ontario Parasport Games. And now we look forward to cheering the Toronto Rock on to victory right here in our city! Go Rock Go!"

Season Membership pricing for the 2023-24 season is now available at torontorock.com. Upon the release of the 2023-24 NLL schedule in September, new single game and group ticket pricing for games played at PFFC will also be released. All single game and group ticket prices for games played at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton in the 2023-24 season will remain the same as last season.
