2015 Round Rock Express Preliminary Roster Set

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Roster spots for the Round Rock Express are beginning to fill as Opening Day rapidly approaches and the excitement that comes with a new baseball season spreads throughout Central Texas. Ten pitchers have been named to the 2015 roster as well as two catchers, three infielders and three outfielders, leaving 10 slots still available.

The pitchers slated to start the season in Round Rock are Edwar Cabrera, Alex Gonzalez, Luke Jackson, David Martinez, Spencer Patton, Juan Perez, Anthony Ranaudo, Jimmy Reyes, Nick Tepesch and Ross Wolf. Express fans will recognize Cabrera, Jackson, Patton, Reyes, Tepesch and Wolf as they have all played as members of the E-train.

Brett Nicholas and Tomas Telis are the current catchers on the 2015 roster. Both Nicholas and Telis played for the Express last season. Telis finished the season with the Rangers, seeing action in 18 games at the major league level.

Trever Adams, Hanser Alberto and Kyle Blanks have been selected as the first three infielders to join the Express. Adams and Alberto both received a promotion from Frisco and Blanks joins the Rangers organization after stints with the San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics in 2014.

The current outfielders on the roster are Michael Choice, Jared Hoying and Ryan Strausborger. All three have worn the Express uniform before and look to make an impact once again this season. Hoying was named a 2014 PCL All-Star and became the first Express player to steal 20 bases and hit 20 home runs in a season since Cody Ransom (2007).

The full Opening Day roster will be released in the coming days. The Express will report to Dell Diamond on Tuesday, April 7th for media day and a team workout before opening the season in Oklahoma City on Thursday, April 9th.
