Butler BlueSox News Release

Butler, PA - April 7, 2013 - Over the last 12 weeks we have taken a look at the young men who will be putting on the BlueSox pinstripes this summer. Our final pair is young, but will be a vital part of the team if we are going to put together a run for the championship.

Tyler Swarmer comes from about an hour south of Butler--as a native of Leechburg, Pennsylvania. As a sophomore in high school, Swarmer was selected for the American Legion All-State Team. His solid play continued the next year when he put up a 1.67 ERA and struck out 62 hitters in just 37.2 innings.

"We believe Tyler will be an effective left-handed arm for us as he compliments a good fastball along with two good secondary pitches," said BlueSox' manager Anthony Rebyanski. "He has not logged a lot of innings at school this spring being a freshman, but I believe the more he pitches, the better he is going

to be. Whatever his role this summer for us, we think he will make a big impact and also make big strides for the fall at Radford."

In high school, he earned All-Section Honors as a junior and senior, and was selected to the WPIAL All-Star Team as a senior in 2012. He has seen limited action as a freshman at Radford University, though his team is 15-11 so far this spring.

One of the tallest players on the mound for Butler this year comes out of Belmont University, in Tennessee. Jordan Deal is a 6'4" right-handed pitcher who led his high school in wins, appearances, and strikeouts.

"Jordan is an example of a player who wants to get better each and every day," said Rebyanski. "It's great to hear how excited he is to continue to grow as a pitcher and how excited he is to be coming to Butler to get that opportunity to grow. We look forward to working with him and believe also that he will be able to fill any role we give him."

Deal was named his high school team's best pitcher as a senior in addition to earning All-Conference, All- County, and Academic All-State honors. Deal has made three appearances for Belmont this spring, pitching three innings in relief, he has allowed two runs and struck out one.

"Along with our assistant coaches, we are excited about the team that has formed and look forward to working with each and everyone one of them, doing what we can to help them become better players both on and off the field this summer," said Rebyanski. Opening Day is just 50 days away!
