2010 Promotional Schedule Is Unveiled

May 6, 2010 - Northern League (NL)
Joliet JackHammers News Release

JOLIET, IL - The suspense is finally over! The JackHammers have an event filled summer ready to entertain all fans this summer, whether you enjoy big things like the San Diego Chicken and 3D Fireworks or prefer something smaller like midget wrestling and a mini KISS concert. Whatever your fancy, all single game tickets will be available for purchase on Saturday, May 8th at 10 a.m.

All the fun kicks off with a huge Opening Weekend Extravaganza on Friday, May 28th at 7:10 p.m. The JackHammers Home Opener on May 28th against Lake County features a 2010 Magnet Schedule giveaway and Dave "The Bullet" Smith, the human cannonball. "The Bullet" will be shot out of a cannon and if that's not enough, a 3D Fireworks display will light up the sky after the game.

The weekend continues with Rockin' BB McCoy, the Break Dancin' Bat Boy on Saturday, May 29th at 7:10 p.m. The first afternoon game on Sunday, May 30th at 2:10 p.m. is sure to be a memorable one as The Ghost Riders take Joliet by storm. The Ghost Riders feature monkey cowboys, or monkeys that ride dogs. It's sure to be a huge hit, especially since it's also Bark at the Park and your opportunity to enjoy a JackHammer game with your pooch.

The Opening Weekend concludes with a special Memorial Day matinee on Monday, May 31st at 5:10 p.m. It's Holy Half Price Mondays as the first 500 kids eat free and the JackHammers are teaming up with Farmers Insurance to allow all military veterans and active duty military FREE admission to the game. Oh, the Ghost Riders and 3D Fireworks also return to entertain the masses.

"This is the most amazing, mind-boggling and insane promotional schedule in the history of minor league baseball," said JackHammers Director of Promotions and Community Relations Sean Keegan. "All the JackHammer games this summer will be jam-packed with entertaining events for children and adults alike."

Other highlights on the promotional schedule include a "small" concert on Sunday, July 4th at 5:10 p.m. after the JackHammers and Winnipeg Goldeyes battle on the field. The JackHammers will wish the USA Happy Birthday with a Mini KISS concert. That's right, the ever famous Mini Kiss from the Dr. Pepper commercial will entertain the crowd after the game. It wouldn't be the Fourth of July without a 3D Fireworks Extravaganza, too.

Further proving that big entertainment can come in a small package, Midget Wrestling comes to Silver Cross Field on Thursday, June 10th at 7:10 p.m. After the game, all JackHammer fans are invited to enjoy the finest in micro wrestling and enjoy $1.50 beers, courtesy of Thursty Thursdays presented by Miller Lite.

While the Chicago Blackhawks are currently on their quest for a Stanley Cup, come out to Silver Cross Field on Thursday, September 2nd at 7:10 p.m. and celebrate Blackhawks Night at the park. Dennis Savard will stop by to sign autographs and take pictures when the gates open and Tommy Hawk will come out to thrill the crowd. The new 2011 Chicago Blackhawk's Ice Crew will be in attendance and available for autographs and pictures. To start the festivities, Jim Cornelison will sing the National Anthem like he has done at numerous Blackhawk games at the United Center.

The Famous Chicken, as known as The San Diego Chicken, will take time out from greeting Presidents, rock stars, and actors to entertain all the JackHammer fans on Thursday, August 19th at 7:10 p.m. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Every night is a great time to visit the ballpark, whether it is on one of the six bobblehead giveaway days (6/3, 6/9, 6/15, 7/20, 8/24, 9/1), Michael Jackson Tribute Night (9/3) or Salute Our Troops Night featuring an appearance by WWE Hall of Famer, Sgt. Slaughter (7/21).

All single game tickets are available on Saturday, May 8th at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online at www.jackhammerbaseball.com, by calling the ticket office at (815) 726-2255 or in person at the Box Office during the JackHammers first ever Fan Fest on the 8th.
