
2008 League Schedule Finalized And Released

Today the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) in conjunction with its member teams have released the schedule for the 2008 indoor football season. The Rochester Raiders were the 2007 champions and will look to defend their title in 2008.
The opening weekend for the 2008 season is March 7, 8, & 9 with the first game of the season at the Sears Centre in Chicago on Friday night as the Kalamazoo Xplosion visit the Chicago Slaughter. Two games will take place on Saturday as the New England Surge will travel to Stabler Arena for a playoff rematch with the Lehigh Valley Outlawz, along with another playoff rematch as the Muskegon Thunder will play host to the Marion Mayhem at L.C. Walker Arena. The opening weekend will conclude with a battle of CIFL expansion teams as the Saginaw Sting visit Perani Arena to open the inaugural season for the league's yet to be named Flint organization on Sunday afternoon.
The schedule will cover twelve games over a fourteen week span with the regular season concluding on June 6, 7, & 8. The playoffs are schedule to begin on June 14, with the 2008 CIFL Championship Game to be played on the weekend of June 28 at the home of the team with the best record.
The league will have two conferences, the Atlantic Conference and the Great Lakes Conference. The conferences will then be divided into an East and West Division. The division breakdown and playoff format are as follows.

Atlantic (West) - Flint, Marion Mayhem, Rochester Raiders, Saginaw Sting
Great Lakes (East) - Fort Wayne Freedom, Kalamazoo Xplosion, Miami Valley Silverbacks, Muskegon Thunder
Great Lakes (West) - Chicago Slaughter, Milwaukee Bonecrushers, Rock River Raptors

The Continental Indoor Football League will kickoff season three in March 2008 as the Rochester Raiders will begin their defense of the CIFL Championship.
