Grand Rapids Rampage News Release

GRAND RAPIDS - In an effort to support West Michigan's youth football leagues, the Grand Rapids Rampage will kick off their 2007 Youth Football Program this week. Rampage players and coaches will attend youth practices every Tuesday this fall, instructing and playing alongside West Michigan's next generation of athletes.

Each Tuesday, Rampage players and coaches will appear at several youth practices, encouraging children throughout the region to play football. Along with receiving professional instruction and a chance to take the field with Arena Football's stars, the youth players will take home autographs, branded water bottles and motivational lessons.

"As the professional football team in Grand Rapids, it is our privilege to serve the youth football community in West Michigan," said Scott Woodruff, Rampage general manager of business operations. "Our objective is to help young people build self-esteem while learning life lessons such as discipline, teamwork, and how to deal with criticism."

In addition, the Rampage will support West Michigan's youth football leagues throughout the year by offering private coaching clinics, use of the Rampage facilities for league meetings, and players or coaches for appearances at youth games.

The Rampage Youth Football Program's first stop will be with the Northeast Raiders of the Grand Rapids Youth Athletic Organization tomorrow (Aug. 15) at City High-Middle School. Quarterback Chad Salisbury (Perryopolis, Pa.) and offensive specialist Aaron Bailey (Ann Arbor, Mich.) will take part in "Rampage Day" by signing autographs, running drills and enjoying a post-practice barbeque with the youth coaches, players and their families.
