Published on July 21, 2006 under arenafootball2 (af2) News Release

CHICAGO - The ArenaCup, the championship game of arenafootball2, has a new home, and what a beautiful home it is. The Coliseo de Puerto Rico, located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be the backdrop for the league's season ending, showcase event this season, the af2 league office announced today. The Coliseo, one of the newest and most state-of-the arenas in the world, will host the 2006 ArenaCup on Saturday, August 26.

"We are excited to bring the ArenaCup to San Juan where we know it will be a first-class event from top to bottom," said af2 President Jerry Kurz. "This event in the tropical setting of Puerto Rico will be truly unique, one that will be like nothing our league and our fans have ever experienced before."

MB Sports, Inc., a widely recognized promotion company that was responsible for the huge success of the World Baseball Classic, is spearheading the marketing and promotion for the ArenaCup and its calendar of activities and events. MB Sports, Inc. is also the same firm that has been put in charge of putting on the upcoming NHL exhibition game at the Coliseo this fall.

"Once Again MB Sports brings innovation into the Sports and Entertainment community in Puerto Rico," said Enrique Cruz, President of MB Sports. "The Coliseo de Puerto Rico and af2 are the best combination for excitement and a fast-paced sporting event. We at MB Sports are very proud to be the promoters of this event."

By teaming up with MB Sports, Inc. and the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, the af2's premier event is expected to be a huge success.

"The ArenaCup, the championship game of arenafootball2, is truly a landmark event for both the Coliseo de Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico itself. Not only has the Coliseo de Puerto Rico established itself as one of the top venues in the world, but now it has become host to Arena Football, one of the most entertaining events in all of sports. As a representative of SMG and of the Government of Puerto Rico it is extremely exciting to see this top notch event showcased for the first time in Puerto Rico where all of South and Central America, and the Caribbean, will be able to enjoy the excitement and thrill of the game firsthand," said Dale Adams, SMG General Manager of the Coliseo de PR.

"Since the opening of the new Coliseo, Puerto Rico has been emerging as a world-class destination for the entertainment industry and International sports events because of our outstanding attributes and high level and quality of service. We feel honored to be chosen as the home for the 2006 ArenaCup. Here all our visitors can find a unique combination of exotic Caribbean settings with U.S. commodities and technology. I'm sure that the ArenaCup in Puerto Rico will be a success," said Manuel Sánchez Biscombe, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Convention District Authority.

The ArenaCup will be televised live and plans are also in place for the game to be streamed live over the Internet through www.af2.com.
