Bring your family, your team or your company and watch the GREATEST female fastpitch softball players in the world compete at one of the most unique ballparks in Texas, Big League Dreams.
The 2004 inaugural season was a huge success for Texas Thunder. Thunder finished 1st Place in regular season play with a 41-17 record. Seven of Texas Thunder players were voted onto the NPF West All-Star team. The coaching staff received the "NPF Coaching Staff of the Year Award." Local Houstonian and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, CHRISTA WILLIAMS (UT/Dobie High School) won the "NPF Pitcher of the Year Award" and LINDSAY GARDNER (UT/Katy High School) won the "NPF Defensive Player of the Year Award."
This year Christa and Lindsay are back along with many of your favorite players from last year Kristen Zaleski, Clare Burnum, Erin Evans and Karrie "RED" Rider. Added to the '05 roster is 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist AMANDA FREED (UCLA), MAYUMI MURAKAMI of Japan, KIM NESLONEY (U. of Houston), CRYSTAL KREBS (U. Colorado at Colorado Springs), MONICA GARZA (Tarleton State), JULIE WATSON (Cal State Fullerton), DENISE DAHLBERG (U. of Hawaii), .
Texas Thunder will play all of their 2005 home games at Wrigley Field in League City.
The brand new Big League Dreams Sports Park in League City, Texas is a World-Class sports park with free parking featuring major league replica fields from some of the great baseball stadiums of our past. In League City you'll find Fenway Park with the Green Monster, Yankee Stadium, Ebbetts Field, Sportsman's Park, Crosley Field and Wrigley Field from Chicago which will be Thunder's home field. The new park also has beach volleyball courts, a 21,000 sq. foot indoor soccer arena with field turf, batting cages, a covered playground for children, a skateboard park and two restaurants with a full bar. This park is something very special and Texas Thunder is VERY proud to call it home!
