FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., September 8 - The Fayetteville Patriots will hold their fifth annual open player tryouts October 15-16 at the Highland Presbyterian Church Recreation Center in Fayetteville. The open player tryouts provide local talent with the opportunity to earn a spot in the Patriots 2005-06 training camp that begins in early November.

The tryout will be directed by head coach and former NBA star Michael Brown and the Patriots coaching staff. The first 100 players to complete all pre-registration forms, including a $100 registration fee (cashier's check or money order only), will be eligible for the camp. Registration will be $150 the day of tryouts.

The open player tryouts will feature one session per day, and both days are open to the public. The Saturday, October 15 session will run from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Patriots coaches will then select players from Saturday's session to advance to the Sunday, October 16 session that will run from 1-6 p.m. With league approval, participants from the open player tryouts will have a chance to be invited to compete in the Patriots training camp.

"This league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella," said Patriots Team Head Coach Michael Brown. "Open tryouts is an opportunity for the NBA dream to really start here in Fayetteville."
