Omaha Nighthawks News Release
OMAHA, Sept. 4 - The Omaha Nighthawks are pleased to announce that 1620 The Zone will provide live radio coverage of Nighthawks games for the third consecutive year. The games also will be streamed live online at 1620thezone.com.
"We're very excited to be back on The Zone, as it promises to be a terrific year for our team," said Guy Ingles, executive director of the Omaha Nighthawks. "Our coaching staff has a cumulative eight Super Bowl rings, and that should make for a pretty exciting and competitive season of play."
Nighthawks game broadcasts will be hosted by two of the station's on-air talents. Veteran broadcaster Gary Sharp will deliver the play-by-play. Sharp also is the station's program director and co-host of 1620 The Zone's "Sharp and Peter in the Morning." Mike'l Severe, co-host of "Unsportsmanlike Conduct," will provide color commentary.
"We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Nighthawks on Omaha's Official Sports Radio, and I, for one, am looking forward to joining Mike'l in the broadcast booth to provide fans the best broadcast coverage in the UFL," said Sharp.
The first broadcast of the eight-game season is Friday, Sept. 21, when the Virginia Destroyers travel to Omaha to take on the Nighthawks.
