Colorado 14ers News Release

DENVER, April 18 - The Colorado 14ers out-gunned the Albuquerque Thunderbirds 130-100 in the first post-season game in Colorado franchise history. The 14ers advance in the NBA Development League Playoffs to face the Idaho Stampede on Friday, April 20 in Boise.

Colorado jumped out to an early double-digit lead just over two minutes into the second quarter, and led by as many 33 in the second half of the blowout victory. The 14ers were led by Elton Brown's 28 points and 11 rebounds, his twenty-first double-double of the season. Pooh Jeter also poured in 18 of his 28 points in the second half in helping Colorado to the win.

"Pooh has given it up for his teammates all year, and he realized he needed to have a big game to help Elton on the inside," said 14ers coach Joe Wolf. "Something clicked in practice this week and we just played hard. To beat the defending champions is always tough, and our guys were up to the task tonight and did a great job."

Six of the eight Colorado players that saw action scored in double-figures in the win. Terrence Crawford posted his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Mo Charlo added 16 points and nine boards off the bench.

Albuquerque falls short in the quest for back-to-back D-League championships with the loss. Dijon Thompson led the Thunderbirds with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists in defeat. Julius Hodge added 11 points and 12 assists for the Thunderbirds.

Albuquerque finishes the season at 24-27. Colorado improves to 29-22 and advances to the D-League Western Division final against Idaho on Friday night.
