DENVER, March 29 - The Colorado 14ers today acquired Mo Charlo from the NBA Development League player pool. The 6-7 forward out of Nevada joins the 14ers after a stint with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in the D-League earlier this season.
Charlo played six games with Albuquerque in the month of January, averaging 7.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Thunderbirds. He scored nine points in 21 minutes in his debut against Colorado on January 12, and had a season high 18 points and four rebounds against Tulsa on January 16.
In 2005-2006 at Nevada, Mo Charlo won the Wolfpack's Sixth Man of The Year Award, shared the prestigious Rock Award representing identity and foundation to the team, and earned a spot on the WAC All-Defensive Team. He helped Nevada win a third straight WAC title, and earn a third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament during his senior season.
Charlo is expected to play in Colorado's next game, Saturday night at Sioux Falls.
