Tupelo FireAnts News Release


In just 11 days, the FireAnts will kick off the 2003 home season at the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo as the Austin Rockers come to town on Saturday, April 12th.

This year marks the third year of FireAnts football in Tupelo as members of the National Indoor Football League. With three away games to start the season, the 'Ants have not seen too much success in terms of winning on the road. But with the recent return of first year Tupelo quarterback Matt Wyatt, the offensive efforts have really picked up, as the team looks forward to sweeping the month of April on home turf.

The 'Ants are in the middle of a much needed bye this week. While players were given the day off on Monday, the team gets back into serious practice mode the latter part of the week.

Meet the Red Hots & FireAnts QB Matt Wyatt at Booneville's Walk America

Members of the Tupelo FireAnts Red Hots dance team along with FireAnts Quarterback Matt Wyatt will be in attendance at the March of Dimes Walk America in Booneville this Saturday. The Red Hots along with Matt Wyatt will be signing autographs and meeting walkers and supporters at Booneville City Park starting at 10am. Come on out and support Walk America. Season Ticket Holder Meet and Greet Announced

FireAnts season ticket holders will be the first to meet the 2003 Tupelo FireAnts next week at the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo. On Tuesday, April 8th, season ticket holders will be able to pick up their 2003 season tickets as well as meet the team from 6-8pm. It is not too late to purchase season tickets and take advantage of this exclusive up close and personal event. Season tickets start as low as $70 for adults and $35 for children and seniors.
