#1 Ranked Defense vs #1 Ranked Offense

May 16, 2008 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Snohomish County Explosion News Release

MONROE, Wash. - May16th, 2008 - It's points pitted against defensive stops, 3 pointers versus turnovers, new school meets old school. Something's gotta give tomorrow night. The Central Oregon Hotshots arrive in town with the best scoring average franchise in IBL history. This year is no different with an average of almost 150 points a game. The Explosion, while still capable of scoring a lot of points, boast the number one defense in the Nation (Massey Rating) this year by allowing a mere 111 points a game, a paltry number by IBL standards.

"These are two franchises that have completely different coaching philosophies" said General Manager Brad Sturlaugson. "The Hotshots will try and bury you with their scoring prowess, while we try and take a more balanced approach. Coach Redwine and his staff believe that added defensive pressure, along with a balanced scoring attack, is the way to march steadily toward a playoff run. We hope that our fans will want to cap off a nice day of fun in the sun with a rocking IBL clash at Monroe High School's Arena. On top of that, we have a great Nylon Backpack (valued at $15.00) to give away to the first 500 fans in attendance!"
