Orange County Flyers News Release

FULLERTON, CA: The Fullerton Flyers announced Tuesday that the Villa Park Little League in Orange County has purchased all remaining seats for the Saturday, June 24 contest against the Chico Outlaws at Goodwin Field on the Campus of Cal State Fullerton.

As a method of assisting Little Leagues, non-profit groups, and other Youth Sports organizations in raising funds for their groups or leagues, the Flyers have developed a "Buy out the Ballpark" program. This program allows groups to purchase all remaining seats at a discounted price, and then to turn around and sell them at face value to their group.

Villa Park Little League will raise thousands of dollars for their league, which can be applied to new uniforms, field maintenance, snack bar upgrades, all-star trips, etc.

"We are excited to bring our entire league to a Flyers game this summer," stated VPLL League President Steve Harlin. "We have been to other professional baseball games as a league before, but this will be the first time where we will all be able to have great seats, enjoy a quality evening, and raise a significant amount of money for our league at the same time."

"This is exciting for the Flyers and the GBL," Flyers General Manager Ed Hart said. "It shows our desire to really get entrenched in the leagues and communities around us, and that we are serious about being the OC's first choice for professional baseball. We also see the obvious, as well - we will get more people in the seats this summer, and they will see what we are striving to create here in Orange County."

Minor League Baseball's most popular entertainment act, ZOOperstars is scheduled* to perform on the 24th, as well. This was one of the most popular entertainment evenings at Goodwin Field in 2005.

The Flyers also announced that there are still a limited number of mini plan and season seats available for the June 24th game, and that no additional single game tickets, or groups, will be available for that game.

"The only way to see that game at this point is to either be a part of Villa Park Little League, or to purchase some of the limited mini-plan or season seats that have been allotted for that night", Hart stated.
