Huntsville Stars announce broadcast team
March 22, 2005 - Southern League (SL1)
Huntsville Stars News Release
The Huntsville Stars, the AA affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are proud to announce their broadcast team for the 2005 season.
Brett Pollock replaces Robert Portnoy in the broadcast booth as the play-by-play announcer along side Bryan Neece who remains with the Stars.
Pollock comes to Huntsville after previous stops with the Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws, Double-A El Paso Diablos, and the Sioux City Explorers of the Independent Northern League.
"The Stars are thrilled to have an announcer with the experience Brett brings to the broadcast", said Stars GM Tom Van Schaack.
"Brett has some big shoes to fill taking over for Robert Portnoy." Portnoy was the Stars broadcaster from 2002-2004.
Van Schaack added, "I am pleased that Brett will team with Bryan Neece during all our home games. I think they will be a comparable broadcast team who will provide a complete and entertaining broadcast for our fans to listen to."
All of the Stars games will be broadcast on ESPN 1450 and on the web at www.huntsvillestars.com.
The season begins April 7th at the Carolina Mudcats, with the home opener slated for April 15th against the Mudcats.
