
Woolpert to Serve as Head Coach for D-League Showcase

EL SEGUNDO - Head coach Coby Karl will not travel to Mississauga, Ontario, for the 2017 NBA D-League Showcase as he and his wife Kristen anticipate the birth of their second child. Los Angeles assistant Paul Woolpert will serve as coach for the team's two weekend contests, it was announced today.
Woolpert is in his second season with Los Angeles after a coaching career that has spanned more than 30 years.
A three-time championship-winning play-caller in the Continental Basketball Association, he has enjoyed stints in the NBA D-League, CBA and Australia.
The D-Fenders enter the league's marquee event with a six-game winning streak. Los Angeles will first battle the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 3 p.m. PT on Saturday, Jan. 21, before taking on the Texas Legends at noon Sunday for a game that can be viewed on NBA TV.
