WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, announced today the team has acquired guard Joey Miller from the available player pool.
Miller (6-3, 175) began his collegiate career at Eastern Illinois University as a freshman before transferring to the University of Illinois-Chicago for two seasons and spending his senior year at Dallas Baptist University. In his lone season with the Patriots, Miller averaged a team-high 16.7 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game, leading the team to a Heartland Conference Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Miller became the first player in school history to be selected to the NCAA Division II College All-Star Game and was named Heartland Conference Newcomer of the Year as well as a First Team All-Heartland Conference selection.
After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, Miller signed with Fiorenzuola of the Italy - Serie C Gold League. Miller is the son of Westchester Knicks Head Coach Mike Miller.
The Westchester Knicks will face the Delaware 87ers, the Philadelphia 76ers' affiliate, tomorrow, Jan. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in Newark, Delaware. The game will be broadcast live on MSG Networks and Facebook Live.
