Tyler Irvine Commits to Merrimack College

MUSKEGON, MI - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that forward Tyler Irvine officially committed to play Division 1 college hockey at Merrimack College next season.

Irvine, a Livonia Michigan native, announced his commitment via his personal twitter account stating, "Honored to announce my commitment to play D1 hockey at Merrimack College. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way! #Warriors" -@TylerIrvine9

Irvine finished his first season in the United States Hockey League, and began his USHL career with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders recording five points in 25 games. The Lumberjacks acquired Irvine in early February, and he played in the final 25 games for the Lumberjacks, tripling his point total with five goals and ten assists for a total of 15 points. Irvine completed his inaugural USHL season with eight goals and 12 assists in 50 games.

Irvine joins Lumberjacks forward Logan Drevitch, and affiliate player Laine McKay who have also committed to play college hockey at Merrimack College.

"It's a great hockey program with a lot of tradition, and provides a great learning experience," said Irvine.

Prior to playing in the USHL, Irvine spent one year in the North American Hockey League totaling 34 points in 57 games, as well as two seasons for Livonia-Stevenson high school collecting 120 points in 51 games.
