The Lakeland Thunderbolts will open up the first round of the 2007 AIFA Playoffs on Monday June 11, 2007 at 7:15pm verse the Carolina Speed at the Lakeland Center.
The Thunderbolts are the 2007 AIFA South Division Champions and the Number one seed. This will be the third match up between the two teams this season. The Thunderbolts Won 57-19 and 39-21 respectively. This is Lakeland's first time having home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Lakeland Thunderbolts (11-2) beat the Montgomery Bears (5-9) to win the American Indoor Football Association Southern Division. This is the second straight southern division championship for the Thunderbolts. Lakeland beat Montgomery 72-56 to close out the regular season clinching the title and home field advantage for the playoffs. This is the fourth championship for head coach Teddy Keaton.
