SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they've acquired Matt Williams Jr. as a returning player from the Miami HEAT. Williams Jr. was previously under a two-way contract with Miami prior to being waived.
Williams Jr. has appeared in 16 games (16 starts) for the Skyforce this season while averaging 9.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in just over 30 minutes per game. Williams Jr. has scored a season-high 18 points on two occasions, most recently against the South Bay Lakers on December 8, a game in which he knocked down a season-high six three-point field goals. The 6-5, 210-pound rookie out of UCF appeared in three games for the Miami HEAT this season, averaging 1.7 points in just under four minutes per contest.
Williams Jr. will be available for tonight's home matchup against the South Bay Lakers at 6:30 PM CST at the Sanford Pentagon.
