
Scott Wood Wins NBA D-League Three-Point Contest

NEW ORLEANS, LA -Santa Cruz Warriors guard Scott Wood won the 2017 NBA D-League Three-Point Contest today with a score of 23 points in the final round of the contest at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Wood (6-5, 185-lb) scored 18 points in the Three Point Contest's preliminary round to move onto the final round, which was held during the halftime of the 2017 NBA D-League All-Star Game. Wood tied for first place in the preliminary round with Devondrick Walker (18 points) of the Delaware 87ers. In the final round of the Three Point Contest, Scott Wood's 23 points edged Walker's final total of 21 points en route to being named the champion of the contest.
"I'm really blessed for this opportunity," said Scott Wood after winning the Three Point Contest. "Without the staff and players in Santa Cruz, I wouldn't be here. I appreciate all of the fans that supported me throughout the way, and I appreciate everything that Santa Cruz has done for me."
Wood averages 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game in 31.6 minutes. He averages 43.7% shooting from beyond-the-arc and recently broke Santa Cruz's all-time franchise record for made three-point shots in a game (10) in the Jan. 28 home game vs. Rio Grande Valley.
Santa Cruz's Dennis Clifford participated in the 2017 NBA D-League All-Star game where the East defeated the West 105-100. Clifford had 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 9 minutes for Team West. Briante Weber, playing on assignment from Golden State, finished with 4 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 15 minutes.
