Sam Steel & Josh Mahura Returned by the Anaheim Ducks

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce that captain Sam Steel and defenceman Josh Mahura have been returned to the club by the Anaheim Ducks.

Steel, a first round pick in 2016, played in two pre-season games with the Ducks, picking up one assist. He is the reigning WHL Player of the Year after a 50 goal, 131 point campaign in 2016-17 which led the entire CHL. The Sherwood Park, Alberta product added 30 points in 21 playoff games in 2017. Mahura, a third round pick by the Ducks in 2016, played in two pre-season games with Anaheim this fall. The 19-year-old scored 17 goals and had 53 points in 73 games during the 2016-17 regular season with the Pats and Red Deer Rebels. Mahura added eight goals and 21 points in 23 playoff games. The Pats have also re-assigned the following players: F Kjell Kjemhus - Pursuit of Excellence (CSSHL). F Tristen Robins - Rink Hockey Academy (CSSHL). F Rayman Bassi - TBD. The Pats return to action tonight at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw against the Warriors at 7 p.m. Next home game is Sunday at 4 p.m. against the Red Deer Rebels.
