River Kings Fall in Home Finale

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids River Kings dropped their final home game of the season, 56-15, against the Green Bay Blizzard at the US Cellular Center. The River Kings fall to 1-12 on the year while the Blizzard go to 8-5.

The River Kings were led by Dalton Oliver at quarterback, he went 14-30 for 128 yards and a touchdown. Running back Nate Chavious had a solid game, catching four passes for 50 yards out of the backfield. The defense was led by Samuel Mabany, who totaled five total tackles on the night.

Green Bay was led by running back Anthony Philyaw, who carried the ball 16 times for 93 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Lenorri Footman, going 10-13 for 166 yards through the air and 52 on the ground, including a 49 yard run for a touchdown in the third quarter.

The Blizzard took the lead on their first possession of the game and never let it go; Philyaw scored on a two yard run to take the 7-0 lead for Green Bay. The River Kings came back on their next drive with White catching a 16 yard pass from Oliver for a touchdown, but a James Kazalski blocked PAT was run back for two points, and Cedar Rapids lost all momentum.

The River Kings close out their season next week in a rematch at Green Bay. The game kicks off at 7:05 PM from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
