Red Bulls Tim Cahill and Roy Miller Called up for International Duty

HARRISON, NJ (February 27, 2014) - New York Red Bulls midfielder Tim Cahill (Australia) and defender Roy Miller (Costa Rica) have been called by their respective national teams for upcoming international matches. Cahill will join the Australian National Team in preparation for their upcoming match versus Ecuador (Mar. 5 in London, England) while Miller was called into camp for Costa Rica's match against Paraguay (Mar. 5 in San Jose, Costa Rica).
Both players are expected to return in time and be available for selection for New York's 2014 MLS regular season opener against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 PM ET at BC Place.
This past summer, Cahill played a major role in helping the Australian National Team qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. On the international level, Cahill has earned 66 caps for his country while scoring 29 goals. During the 2013 season, his first full season in MLS, Cahill was influential for the Red Bulls, leading the team in goals with 11 and helping the Red Bulls win the 2013 Supporters' Shield. The 2013 MLS All-Star also tallied five assists in his 27 appearances, all of which were starts. At the end of the season, Cahill was voted to the league's Best XI as a midfielder and named the Red Bulls' team MVP.
Miller is the longest tenured Red Bull, having been with the club since 2010. Last season, Miller tallied 17 appearances and earned one assist playing for New York. Over his four-year career in MLS, the Costa Rican has recorded 96 appearances, 87 of which were starts, and 12 assists. Miller has earned 46 caps for Costa Rica, scoring one international goal.
