ORLANDO - The Orlando Predators completed a trade with the LA KISS on Tuesday, acquiring fullback John Martinez and defensive lineman Logan Harrell in exchange for defensive lineman Mike Lewis and future considerations.

Prior to joining the KISS this offseason, Martinez (6-3, 315, USC) spent his first two years in the Arena Football League with Portland, where he played under current Predators offensive coordinator Matthew Sauk (2014) and line coach Clay Harrell (2014-15). In 2015, Martinez played in every game for Portland and rushed for 66 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding eight receptions for 70 yards and three more scores.

Martinez started 30 games at offensive guard during his college career at USC, where he earned All-Pac-12 honors in 2012. He was a part of the final recruiting class for Pete Carroll at USC after being named to several All-American lists and the ESPN 150 list as a prospect coming out of Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also attended rookie minicamp with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014.

Now in his second season in the AFL, Harrell (6-3, 270, Fresno State) played in seven games for LA as a rookie in 2015 and registered 13.5 total tackles with a team-high 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble. Prior to joining the KISS, Harrell played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, where he notched two sacks in 2014. He has also been a member of the San Diego Chargers.

Harrell was a two-time First Team All-WAC selection during his collegiate career at Fresno State. He played in 51 games over his four years at the school and racked up 148 total tackles with 18.5 sacks, 34.5 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. His father, Robert Harrell, played for the Florida Gators from 1969-1972. His godfather, Jack Youngblood, served as the President and General Manager of the Orlando Predators from 1995-1999 following a Hall of Fame career in the NFL.
