
Petti and Tomasek on NHL Draft Radar

The National Hockey League Central Scouting Service released it's Midterm Rankings in advance of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft on Tuesday. Of the multitudes of players ranked for the big day that comes on June 27th in Philadelphia, two Belleville Bulls made the list of notables.
Seventeen year-old forwards Niki Petti and David Tomasek are both considered to be among the top 210 North American skaters eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft.
Petti is midway through his sophomore season with the Bulls, having registered 5 goals and 6 assists in 34 games. The fleet-footed centreman hails from Welland and was Belleville's first round draft pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection. Petti skated with the Ontario Under 17 team in the 2013 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge and has points in each of his last two games. Petti was the 163rd ranked North American skater on the CSB's Midterm Rankings.
David Tomasek was the Bulls' first round (56th overall) selection in the 2013 CHL Import Draft. Having played with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies program over the past three seasons, Tomasek came to Belleville familiar with the North American brand of hockey. The versatile Czech forward is the 182nd ranked North American skater on the rankings and has 9 goals and 6 assists in 35 games this season.
The North American portion of the Midterm Rankings were headlined by Kingston Frontenacs forward Sam Bennett who was followed closely by Prince Albert Raiders German sensation Leon Draisaitl and Barrie Colts blueliner Aaron Ekblad.
The Bulls had two players drafted in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Defenceman Jordan Subban was a fourth round selection by the Vancouver Canucks while 19 year-old centreman Alan Quine, now of the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, was a sixth round pick by the New York Islanders.
