Lowgators Offer Group Ticket Discounts

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., August 8, 2002 – Lowcountry basketball fans will have the opportunity to catch exciting North Charleston Lowgators basketball for as little as $5 thanks to new group ticket rates that have been put in place for the 2002-03 season.

Lowgators group ticket discounts are divided into two separate categories, with designated savings for groups of 15 to 69 people, and an even bigger discount for groups of 70 or more.

Groups of less than 70 fans can purchase Courtside Club tickets for $10, lower bowl center court seats for $9, lower bowl corner tickets for $8 and upper bowl seats for $6. Large groups of 70 or more are eligible to purchase lower bowl center seats for $8, lower bowl corner seats for $7 and upper bowl tickets for $5.

The Lowgators will host the Roanoke Dazzle in an exhibition contest Nov. 7. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. North CharlestonÂ’s regular-season home opener is Nov. 17 against defending NBDL champion Greenville.

LOWGATORS TO BE TELEVISED FIVE TIMES BY ESPN2

Three Games Will Originate From North Charleston Coliseum

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (July 23, 2002) – The North Charleston Lowgators will be televised five times by ESPN2 as part of the overall 2002-03 NBDL television broadcast package. Three games will originate from the North Charleston Coliseum.

ESPN and ESPN2 will broadcast 19 regular season and six NBDL Playoff games through the 2002-03 season. ESPN reaches 86 million homes, while ESPN2 reaches 83 million. All games will be shown tape delayed.

The Lowgators were televised a league-high 23 times last season in conjunction with the ESPN Original Entertainment series "Down Low: Life in the D-League". Without the series, ESPN and the NBDL have equaled the amount of exposures throughout the eight-team league.

"We are excited to bring national television exposure back to the North Charleston Coliseum and the Lowcountry," Lowgators team president Quentin Williams said. "With the success we had last year on the court, and the buzz created by the reality show, we are looking forward to bigger successes in year two."

The first television appearance for the Lowgators this season is scheduled for Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. against the Columbus Riverdragons. The game will be played Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in Columbus. The only other road TV appearance for North Charleston is Jan. 27 at 4 p..m. against the Asheville Altitude. That game will be played Jan. 25 at 7:15 p.m. in Asheville.

The Lowgators show off the North Charleston Coliseum to a national TV audience Jan. 13 at 4 p.m. The game against the Huntsville Flight will actually be played Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. Other games televised from the Lowcountry include Mobile at the Lowgators on Feb. 17 (actual game is Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.) and Roanoke at North Charleston March 3 (actual game is March 1 at 7 p.m.). Air times for both of those games 4 p.m.
