LOS ANGELES LAKERS ASSIGN NWABA TO D-FENDERS
EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned guard David Nwaba to the D-Fenders for the second time, it was announced today.
Nwaba has appeared in 39 games (30 starts) for the D-Fenders this season, averaging 14.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. The rookie guard has averaged 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 11.2 minutes with the Lakers since earning his first NBA Call-Up on February 28. He signed a second 10-day contract with L.A. earlier today.
The 6-foot-5 L.A. native is expected to suit up for the D-Fenders tonight when the team hosts the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 6:30 p.m. at the Toyota Sports Center.

About the Los Angeles D-Fenders: The NBA Development League's Los Angeles D-Fenders return for the team's 10th season of competition in 2016-17. The first franchise in D-League history to be owned by an NBA team, the D-Fenders franchise has established itself as a top producer of NBA-ready talent, totaling 26 NBA Call-Ups and developing 19 Lakers assignment players since the inaugural 2006-07 season.
