Rome Renegades News Release
They'd all like to play on Sunday.
Right now, they're happy to be playing on Monday, or Thursday, or Friday, whenever. They're playing for a championship right now and the road to the American Bowl comes through Rome Monday night in the Forum at 7:00. The Rome Renegades will host the Raleigh Rebels for the Southern Division post season championship. The two teams split in the regular season, both winning on their home turf.
This year's Rome Renegade team has set all sorts of records, from touchdowns, to completions, rushing, interceptions, you name it. For many members of the team, football is a second job at this stage in their career. The big guys, Barry Hall and Reggie Jiles on the offensive line are both employed by the Gordon County Schools. Defensive end Leon Moore works as a school counselor via computer and e-mail for a school system in North Carolina. Quarterback Bo Bartik is in computer sales and his back up Bart Gloyd works in real estate. Wide receivers T.J. Anderson and Gerald Gales are both in the athletic apparel retail industry while Lemar Parris works in graphic design. Lemar's father, Lemar Parrish Sr. is an eight time NFL Pro Bowl defensive back with the Bengals and Redskins.
All just regular guys, maybe a little bigger, or a little faster. All with dreams of playing football at the highest level.
The Renegades meet the Raleigh Rebels Monday night at 7:00 in the Forum with the Southern Division bid to the American Bowl a week later at stake. Renegade fans are encouraged to wear black to the Forum Monday night !
