Maine Mammoths News Release

PORTLAND - After an exciting inaugural season for the Maine Mammoths, the National Arena League has announced it's 2018 All-NAL Defense. In addition, it announced it's special team's All-NAL Kickers. This year, two Mammoths players were awarded Second Team All-NAL titles for defense and special teams. Defensive Back Keiron Jones earned Second Team All-NAL Defensive honors and Kicker Henry Nell earned Second Team All-NAL honors as well.

Keiron Jones, Defensive Back: Defensive Back Keiron Jones helped the Mammoths tremendously by leading the entire NAL in total tackles with 83. 71 of which were solo and 24 were assists. Jones also stepped in big time this season by racking up 10 interceptions for 100 yards, averaging 10 return yards per interception. One of those interceptions was returned for a touchdown. Jones smacked the ball away a total of 22 times this season.

Henry Nell, Kicker: Henry Nell is a rookie from South Africa and has never played a game of football before, mainly playing Rugby. Nell was brought in by the Mammoths after Kicker Brandon Rutherford went down with a season-ending injury. Nell broke a NAL record with 13 made field goals on 27 attempts. Nell was 52-of-66 on PAT's and successfully made 11 deuces. Nell was one point shy of one hundred points, as he gave the Mammoths 99 points last season.

Tomorrow, the league will announce its First & Second All-NAL Offense and the Mammoths faithful expect to see some familiar names on that list.
