
JON HOLMES JOINS TEAM USA Added To U.S. World Cup Qualifying Team

PORTLAND, Maine - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, announced today that forward Jon Holmes has joined the USA Basketball roster for the November first-round FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifying games.
Holmes has joined Team USA in Greensboro, N.C., as the team prepares for two first round games during the November qualifying window. Holmes will return to the Red Claws next week.
The U.S. plays Puerto Rico on Nov. 23 in Orlando and Mexico on Nov. 26 in Greensboro.
Holmes joins eleven other NBA G League stars on the team, coached by Jeff Van Gundy. Holmes has played in five games for the Red Claws this season, averaging 6.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
The Red Claws return to action Friday at Fort Wayne. Maine returns home Sunday for a 1 p.m. matinee against Greensboro.
