Renovations Begin, Perez Shining in Arizona
Welcome to the inaugural Hickory Crawdad's Friday Favorites! Each week the Crawdads will highlight some of our favorite things going on as well as upcoming events and opportunities.
Renovations Begin at L.P. Frans Stadium
On Tuesday, the Hickory Crawdads and Texas Rangers announced at their media event that L.P. Frans Stadium would be undergoing $1 million in improvements for the 2018 season. Crews have already started the work, beginning with tearing up the old playing surface. You can read more about the scheduled renovations here.
Perez Shining in Fall League
2017 Crawdad and South Atlantic League All-Star Yanio Perez is continuing his strong season, batting .301 through 20 games, in the Arizona Fall League. Perez, along with 2016 Crawdad Adam Choplick, was named to the Arizona Fall League Stars team. The 22 year-old Cuban was the Ranger's largest international signing last offseason.
Fall Fling on Saturday
Tomorrow, Saturday November 18th, the Crawdads will host the annual Fall Fling from 11am to 1pm! Join us at L.P. Frans Stadium for an afternoon featuring a pumpkin pie eating contest, hay rides, arts and crafts, a bounce house, speed pitch and more.
