Hammers Close 2015 Season On Home Field

The Alabama Hammers will face the PIFL leading Columbus Lions at home on the Huntsville Hospital/TOC Sports Field in the arena of the Von Braun Center this Saturday with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. The evening includes the AUSA Military Appreciation Night and Kids Cap Night sponsored by Coca-Cola and WAFF Channel 48.

The Hammers (4-7) remain as the top rated offense in the PIFL with 294-yards per game mostly behind quarterback Garrett Sutphen and receiver Mico McSwain, both of whom were Co-Offensive Players of the Week in the PIFL after their performances in the Hammers' 41-39 upset of Lehigh Valley last week. The Hammers are No. 1 in the league in both total offensive yards and passing offense yards (283).

Meanwhile, the Lions (8-2) are atop the PIFL standings and come into the Rocket City to battle the Hammers with the league's No. 1 rated scoring offense (55-points) and touchdowns scored (77). The Lions are also rated No. 3 in total offense (280-yards) and No. 4 scoring defense (44.9).

The last meeting of the two teams came in week five of the PIFL season with Columbus taking a huge 74-53 victory over the Hammers.

The game can be heard on the Hammers' Radio Network including WAFN-FM, 92.7 Fun Radio-Arab, WZZN-FM, 97.7 The Zone-Huntsville and WWIC-AM, 1050-Scottsboro. Michael St. John and Steve Moulton will call the action.
