Gladiators Fall to the Sabercats, 61-34

The Las Vegas Gladiators lose their ninth straight as early turnovers proved deadly in their 61-34 loss to the Sabercats at the HP Pavilion in San Jose.
The Gladiators were struck by turnovers early, finishing the first half with five and seven on the game. The Sabercats started out strong taking an early 21-0 lead in the first quarter, and scoring another 19 in the second quarter. Going into the first half the Gladiators were down 41-6.
The Gladiators played an efficient second half outscoring the Sabercats 28-21. A quarterback change for the Gladiators in the 3rd quarter gave Nick Rolovich his first chance on the season. Rolovich finished the game with nine passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns. QB Brian Jones finished the game with 20 passes for 232 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions. WR Thabiti Davis had 11 receptions for 135 yards and two touchdowns to lead all receivers, also adding a rushing score. WR Travis LaTendresse who is just in his second start of the season had an outstanding game finishing with 108 yards and one touchdown.
The Gladiators defense was lead by DB Rufus Brown with 7.5 tackles and LB Sarth Benoit who had a standout night with an interception, fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
The Sabercats defense played a key role in their 27 point win against the Gladiators with two forced fumbles and four interceptions, two were ran back for touchdowns by DB Omarr Smith and Clevan Thomas. QB Mark Grieb finished the game with 18 of 24 passes for 280 yards, five touchdowns and an interception. WR Ben Nelson had seven catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns while Jason Geathers added 132 reciving yards and three scores.
For the Sabercats this marks Head Coach Darren Arbets' 100th win, which makes him the 5th coach in AFL history to hit the 100 win marker. For the Gladiators this continues their losing streak, which now extends to nine games. The Gladiators fall to 1-10 on the season and the Sabercats move to 7-3.
